Holly, Jolly Christmas

This particular christmas movie never really had any meetings but there was plently of discusssions between the makeup department and the filming department through Microsoft Teams.
There was 3 makeup artists in the team. Myself, Abigail Sievers and Paige Goodings. Before we could work on the production in early December we had to design a numerous of different designs. I designed the female and male staff member as well as the design for Holly.
We 3 makeup artists should team work as we coordinated our designs with each other as we had to make the wax elf ears on the character Noelle and the staff members. The ears for Noelle had to be realistic where as the ears for the staff members were made to look fake.

Unfortunately there were problems when designing and creating the ears and we didnt have the resources, time or money to create or order prosthetics so we had to compromise and make them out of wax which should us so problems as the talent may have had an allergy to the wax or the adhesive. The wax could have also got stuck in the talents hair, this would be if the talent has longer hair. This solution was effective as the ears for Noelle looked realistic on the film.
When doing the makeup on the day we ran into issues as talent were coming and going. Some even arrived late. This caused issues in timing, this upset the film team as an extra day of filming was needed. The makeup artists stayed calm during this and completed the makeup to the highest standard we could.

We made sure that we adhered to the health and safety protocols when doing the makeup. We wore masks and washed our hands between models to prevent the spread of coronavirus and other contraindications. We also made sure that our brushes were clean. We also made sure that our area was tidy and the seats disinfected between talent.
