Introduction

William Shakespeare was a renowned poet, playwriter and actor. Shakespeare was born in England in the year 1564, his birthday is most commonly celebrated on the 23rd of April. 
Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-Upon-Avon by John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. His father was a local glove maker but his participation in local civic positions made it possible to send his children to the local grammar school.
Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at 18 due to Anne being pregnant with their first child 'Susanna'

His Work

William Shakespeare is thought to have written a total of 38 plays and over 150 poems. His works have currently been translated into all major languages and are still thought to be some of the greatest English literature ever written. Nearly 400 years after his passing some of his work is performed on stages worldwide.
A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet are the most widely known piece of Shakespearean work and are often taught at a secondary school level within the British education system.

Influence

Shakespeare has heavily influenced modern media and language. For example, the famous Disney film The Lion King is a modern adaptation of Hamlet. Other films such as Twilight and Titanic use the trope of a tragic love story and are known to guide people toward some of his original work.
